What if the socks you wore were able to tell you about how you walk and the fit of the shoes you wear when walking? What if the seat you sat on was able to understand your activity? You interact with textiles 96% of your life; what if they were able to improve your health and wellbeing day-to-day?
Footfalls & Heartbeats have developed smart textile platform technologies which provide true wearability, towards being ‘disappearable’, where “the textile is the sensor”™. We customise textile sensing systems to meet clients’ specific needs and requirements.
In preparation for the upcoming Wearable Tech Expo, we tasked our team with creating a practical, fun and interactive demonstrator showing the potential of what our technology can do in the IoT age; what came back ticked all the boxes.
The team have created a cushion acting as a 3 x 3 grid of sensors which, when pressed, sends this information via a lightweight IoT-focused data transfer protocol to be showcased on a mobile application:
We’re excited to showcase the hard work our team has put in to make this demonstrator happen and eager to discuss where our technology can help you achieve your goals. You can find us at the KTN Wearable Technology Showcase, stand L40, on the 13th and 14th March.
